The origins of HCN Global began in 1979 in the historic village of Las Trampas, New Mexico.
Tranquilino Lopez and Fermenia Leyba exemplified thriving family culture through “hermandad” (brotherhood) and reverence for nature.
Despite modern pressures, they and fellow villagers resisted consumerism’s allure.
Here is when Roberto Mondragon, Consuelo Luz, and Jeff Kline, MA.Ed. united to showcase these villagers’ heroism through documentaries and radio, spreading Hispanic culture and practical life advice.
These productions caught the attention of Spanish radio stations, leading to daily programming requests.
From these modest beginnings, we’ve evolved into a prominent
producer and distributor of noncommercial public interest and educational
content focused on social determinants of health for multicultural communities.
HCN Global originated as the Hispanic Radio Network (HRN) in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
1978
HRN evolved into Hispanic Communications Network (HCN) and introduced its full-service social impact agency.
2006
HCN launched La Red Hispana digital platforms for consumers, comprising a website, social media channels, and round-the-clock streaming.
2012
HCN launched its full-service agency, inclusive of communications, marketing, PR, advertising and on the ground activations.
